Hi all, my mate sent me these and said there was no editing, straight out of the camera, now he has improved his camera skills or they have been in photoshop,
is it possible to get the moon as big and clear whilst also not a bad photo of the plane?? could only upload one due to the size,
thanks,
lee

I would be intrigued to know:-

  1. Where
  2. What time of day & date
  3. Camera & lens and EXIF

I would surmise it is possible but the above would help understand it, as the moon is not that sharp compared to the plane ;)

he just said early morning, near leeds bradford airport Thursday, and last i knew he only had a canon 60d and a old 100-400mm lens.

Looking at the shadows on the underside of the wing and on the fuselage, they look "right" when compared to the Moon. That's the sort of thing that most fakers miss. Moon phase looks about right for Thursday.

Well, according to this site https://www.timeanddate.com/moon/uk/bradford the moon would have been visible and that sort of phase..................the plane likely moving fairly slow as I surmise shortly after takeoff. So quite likely your friend is not pulling your leg ;)

PS though on the 6th August the Moonset was in the WSW so just what time he took it to see the rising sun (in the East) casting the shadow across the forward fuselage??? Try to get my head round that aspect

PPS I was still checking & typing as @Nod posted ;)

I'm seeing feathering around all the edges of the plane? Most pronounced behind the tail wing.

The colours are over saturated, but it can be set in camera like that. So it's possible.

But the eye does not see that level of colour or contrast so it's shopped ,just in camera.BBB_3949.JPG
