Hi All

Having now upgraded the PC to W10 my Spyder3 Elite software though it runs under W10 1511 is unsupported and according to a few reports I have read the calibration accuracy/control is not of the best under that OS???

So looking at my options?
1) Upgrade to the Spyder 5 Elite with a special discount from Datacolor of 25%
2) Start from scratch again and opt for the xRite i1 Display Pro?

According the xRite page here http://www.xritephoto.eu/calibrators the i1 does have much better spec (more colours measured, a little more future proof in regard the screen technologies it will work with, speed of calibration) at the same price point as the Spyder.

Insight and feedback would be welcome :)

TIA

Got a link to the spyer 3 info?

Technically it's never been officially w10 compatible but it works, be interesting to know why it will stop working.

As I read it not so much stop working but I read of colour cast following W10 update........ that took me back to my W2K days and the Huey Pro colour cast headaches. Even if subtle colour difference effects that is a big negative IMO so hence my OP.

I will try to find the links and update this thread/post but soonest for that will be tonight.

Not had any bother with the accuracy of prints from dscl compared to on screen.

My advice would be to try calibrating and get some prints done to check before forking out for a new device.
