Re-opening a DNG file in ACR

I've just been doing some editing on an image in ACR, I then opened the image to E11.

I hadn't finished, so saved it as a DNG file instead of a jpeg because I was hoping I would be able to open it again in ACR, but when I re-open it, it opens straight into E11 not ACR.

Have I saved it in the wrong format?

Could someone please explain if its possible to re-open in ACR. I don't know if I'm just missing something obvious or trying to do something that's not possible:thinking:

Open the original RAW directly into E11 rather than via ACR and you should be fine.
 
Jon, its the file I've saved as DNG that I've already done some pp on that I want to re-open in ACR :)
 
Hmm. Don't think you can - as far as I know the two systems are incompatible at RAW level. Happy to be corrected on this...
 
Thanks, tbh I'm new to E11 and ACR (well a month in) I did wonder if I was trying to do the impossible :shrug:
