Looking for a close up lens / filter to attach to my Sony RX10M4

Can anyone give feedback on these two items - there seems to be quite a few reviews for the Raynox but not many for the Sigma filter with sample images

Price - is this reflected in quality of image

Are there other alternatives that can be recommended ?

thanks

Can't comment on the Sigma, but have been using Raynox products for many years and they are incredible value for money.

Great image quality, Easy to clip on/off and interchangable with many lenses.

I only shoot wildlife and usually have the Raynox fitted to my 70-200. The ability to simply unclip it, means that I can go from macro to 'normal' lens in seconds - Easy to fit my ringflash as well.

I use the DCR150 and DCR250 units and sometimes stack both together........That flexibility is a huge advantage to me.

thats a good point about interchanging for the Raynox - with your 70-200 lens with the 150, how far do you tend to stand from the target bug - great photo

It varies, depending on zoom level, but usually, it could be measured in inches. - I don't know what you will be shooting, but additional lighting will generally be required!

I still use my trusted old Marumi Ringflash, which I bought on ebay for £20.00.

I'm not sure you can use a ringflash with the Raynox as they use the front of the lens to clamp in the adapter.

I may be wrong though as I have never tried one with it.

You can screw the Raynox onto the front of a lens though it does need to be 43mm filter thread, you can use step down rings to accomodate

Can vouch for Raynox here too, have owned a few of the 250, and it doesn't affect IQ whatsoever - just keep it clean, same as you would front element of any lens

You'll find the Raynox vignettes severely on the RX10 IV which the Sigma won't. This limits its use to the longest focal lengths which may not be an issue for you. You'll also need a step-down ring to adapt the Raynox clip-on adapter to the RX10's 72mm filter thread. The Raynox does have the advantage that it's 4.8 dioptres where the Sigma is only 2. There are several happy users of the RX10 and Sigma in the DPReview Cybershot forum with results that show it's a good combination.

As an alternative, look for a Marumi Achromat 200 in 72mm. This is 5 dioptres so matches the Raynox and screws straight onto the lens. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Marumi-D...370924&hash=item5db694d6d4:g:CH4AAOSwqyFfiHdq
