Rawtherapee - Soft images.....

All,

I am trying out Rawtherapee and so far, I am pretty impressed.

However, the image previews that I am working with are incredibly soft, making all the images look as if they are useless, however, final renders are excellent!

Is there a way to rectify this?
I have tried googling this, however the solutions all point to the wrong thing....

Anyone else suffer with this?

Do you need to zoom in more to see the sharpness applied to the original?

I think you have to update the rendering after each adjustment, there is a button on the bottom, one of the reasons I no longer use it much.
