Can anyone help?

I use Pixmantec RSE to upload and process RAW files, but recently, when I upload any images, it has started to automatically process them :bang: It's driving me nuts as I want to start from the original RAW image, not one that has been processed and fiddled with. I don't know what I've done to make it do this :help:

I think it is using the default auto settings. Can you slide all the sliders to 0 then do a save as default?

Cheryl,
You havent got the 'Processing parameters' set to something other than 0 (zero) for each value have you. As I understand it, when you open any new images RSE will apply the settings in the 'Processing parameters' window to the images. Click the little arrow next to the green question mark icon in the top left of RSE to show the PP window. I have mine all set to zero, so I can make my own adjustments.

Dunno if this is the prob...but could be  :)

edit: just read Janice's post I think we're on about the same thing :)

All the processing parameters are set to 0 - I haven't changed them  I've had a quick look at the user guide and can't see anything that points to auto settings, so I don't know why this is happening

I found one other reference to this happening (via google) but no solution.

Try removing the program, delete any pixmantec references from the registry, any left behind program folders and re install?

When you click on batch convert on the right hand side, have you got the "Automatically open with..." box ticked? If so, and you've chosen PS, then processing will start.

That will actually open the photo in PS not change the photo parameters in RS.

Im convinced that you need to put all the settings to 0, then there should be a tiny arrow top right...in that menu is a "save as default" option.
If you do this then every image you open will have no automatically changed parameters,....leaving you to do your own each time.

This is what I mean. The little arrow to the right for appearances....you can put all your sliders to 0 and save that as an appearance called "basic" or whatever you want like I have done.

I only have the 'Essentials' so this feauture isn't there...and I'm still none the wiser

Those sliders might be on an per image basis. However, if the processing parameters in RSE are set to "0" e.g.

then all those sliders should be at "0" for each image. Looks like removal of RSE and reinstall might be in order. Just wonder if you've run some sort of clean up/reg cleansing program which may have caused this?

It's a mystery as Toyah would say.

Holding down Alt + Z should reset all corrections t0 zero
