Hi,
I was out shooting star trails last night in RAW and when I come to open the shots in cs3 it just gives me a message about cannot open file type. Any suggestions? The files are cr2's shot on a canon7d

The only other software I have is elements 10 and although I can open them in that I can't see how to batch process them i can see the process multiple files but no way of saving what I've done to the first image and then applying that to the 100 other images I've got. And I can't see any option to save as jpeg.

Any help gratefully received.

Ben

The Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) plug-in to Photoshop CS3 is not compatible with 7D raw files. Canon's own DPP software will process the files. Another option is to use Adobe's free DNG converter to turn your 7D raws into the universal DNG raw format, http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=3645

I don't know 'cause I haven't tried it, but the free Faststone software may work - and may be faster than the Adobe dng. I downloaded this simply as an image viewer, and have been quite amazed at what it can do when you fiddle around a bit.

Hmmm, that doesn't seem to work. when i run the Adobe convert to DNG i get a message unable to parse.

any thoughts?

Edit - Never mind had old version of DNG converter, converting now....
