raw images on iPad and mac

they both seem to import the raw files and display them but when i copied and pasted into the cannon image browser software they showed up as jpegs,so looking in the folder on the mac desktop that i copied them into from iPhoto the info said jpegs yet the originals on the iPhoto folder say raw,what gives?

just to add on the iPad the image info showing the raw word has a hello line going through and the images are around 23mb each.usually the jpegs are about 2-3mb
