Four rare, red-listed, Monatgu Harrier Hawk chicks have fledged. When the RSPB went to the nest in a wheat field they put a 2m high mesh fencing around it..(photo in article) left it open to the sky,of course. The chicks fledged and the wheat had to be harvested so the RSPB put ribbons on a poles showing above the top of the wheat so the combine harvester driver would avoid the nest because, despite fledging, the youngsters will return for feeding by the parents.
