Does anyone here use these straps at all.

Just wondering if anyone has purchased one and if they have any views on them.

Cheers

I have the RS-2.

I like it but it takes a bit of getting used to.

Cheers Hypnotic... thanks for the reply.

When wearing it do you ever get the feeling that its going to give way or is it quite resilient. Just thinking of when you have camera, battery grip and 70-200 hanging off it.

I have used that setup a few times with it.

It takes a bit of getting used to (trusting it) but after a while you will get to trust it.

It makes the camera feel a lot lighter than with a normal strap.

I believe the new versions are even better but still quite expensive.

I did end up paying about £13 extra in customs duty as well though.

I have the RS-2 as well - as mentioned, it does take a bit of getting used to, but it is far more comfortable than the original Canon strap. Once I did get used to it, I wouldn't dream of swapping it for a standard strap. It's easier to carry the camera, and not as obvious as it doesn't say Canon in big letters. Also if wearing an open jacket, the camera tends to hang inside the jacket out of the way until you want to use it.

They do seem to be well made.

I got hit for the customs also. The annoying thing was that there was something like a £5 customs charge to pay, but because it came via the Royal Mail, they don't deliver it but push a card through the door forcing you to go to the depot to pick it up. Just to really annoy you, they then add an £8 handling fee. When I asked why I couldn't simply have paid the delivery guy (like you do with most Couriers), they said that it's not possible because their delivery men do not have the facility to take a payment... :cuckoo:

Anyway back to the topic - in short they're not cheap, but they work well.
