If someone has an item belonging to you and is refusing to contact you to sort it out what would you do - within reason?

Hmmm.....depends on the situation.

Is he a big bloke?! If not, maybe go round and face to face him over it - either try to get back the item or arrange a firm meeting at which you WILL get back the item.

can you not contact him? (or her!) Remember if he won't answer your phone calls dialling 141 before the number will block YOUR number so he won't know it's you calling.

Failing that, polite letter demanding it's return at x-time in x-place. No show then - threaten legal action if it's valuable enough.

Not enough details in the opening thread to comment as yet Steve.

how about sort it out between yourselves in an amicable fashion?

Big Fight Night.:boxer:

I agree though, if you can, go to their place and ask for it back on the spot.

Tricky without knowing the specifics but without sounding too "British" a personal letter (Recorded Delivery) could do the trick - I had a guy on another forum who sold me some camera gear for over £300, which I paid via PayPal - He then refused to send me the gear & then disappeared from the forum / refused to answer emails - he lived to far to "visit" so I wrote to him telling him I wanted my money or I'd report him to the Police & have him arrested for Theft & Deception - He emailed me the day the letter arrived & we sorted out payment over a number of months (as his life had fallen apart)
On the positive side I was going to buy his used Canon & ended up with a new Nikon instead :D
Paul ;)

Cheers Folks - finally have a result... and thank you to the person concerned :)

Well the admin have heard Stuv's side of this. This is a disputed sale which took place away from the forum but which involves two well known and respected members of the forum. There's surely a simple remedy to this situation which involves the two parties concerned getting together and sorting this misunderstanding out amicably?

Good to hear you got it sorted
