Hi everyone i have a few questions to ask.

I'm currently using a fuji finepix s9500/9600.

I'm extremely interested in taking pictures of rallying and i would like you to reccomend a camera for me to use, which can do all of the following.

Focus Very quickly on fast moving objects.
Interchangeable lens.
High quality photographs
Iso of 800+
Fast shutter speed
Continouis shooting (so i can keep clicking the button to take a picture without stopping untill the memory card is full)

thats all the things i can think of for the time being,

i don't mind using a quite advanced camera as i suppose i'll have to get used to one someday!

Please post with your ideas.

Thank you very much for reading this..please help!

NOTE: i edited out the bit that said "short movie recordings" as i see you guys said its not really worth it, so please post some more cameras to use. Unfortunately i'm only young so i'm afraid i have to limit your suggestions to around a £300 budget.

The movie clip requirement leaves you with two options: Nikon D90 and Canon EOS 5D mkII. The Canon isn't really a speed machine, so I'd guess that the Nikon would be better.

If you lose the requirement for the movie mode you'll have lots more choice...

personally I'd probably forget about the movie clip and open the choice of cameras right up. What sort of budget are you thinking about?

Hmm, Canon 40D perhaps? Ticks most of your boxes I would think... gonna be on the cheap too once the 50D is out. Maybe the Nikon D300 too.

I'd say either D300 or D700. I wouldn't keep movie clip recording as one of your must haves, the quality isn't typically the best on Bridge DSLR's etc. If you want to record movies, get a £160 Sony DV camcorder ;)

As said, I would drop the movie mode rather than compromise on choice.

The movie mode on the D90 is limited to something like 5mins so not really all that useful. Personally I would look at the Nikon D300 with the optional battery grip for fast fps and good high ISO performance. I shoot motorsport as well and thats exactly what I've gone for.

i'd like a budget of around £300. i Know its not allot but i'm only young and can't afford too much.

See if you can bag one of the £180 Canon 400D kits that Sainsbury's are selling. Nothing you can get atm is going to beat that for fullfilling your needs/wants right now ;)

good suggestion, add a sigma 70-300 Apo and it's a good versatile system :)

can you posibly post me a link to where on sainsburys website i can find it?

Canon-wise, the 400D is your best bet, and Nikon would be the D60, both with kit lenses... I wouldn't just stick to the "Big 2" though - lot's more out there. Olympus E-410/420 kits are within your budget, and the Sony Alpha 200 + 18-70mm lens is only £250 new. For new prices, have a look at www.camerapricebuster.co.uk to start with.

You will get more for your money if you buy second-hand though. Have a look here for TP's list of second-hand dealers.
