After a comment on a recent thread of mine asking how I keep rain off my lens or filter I was thinking does anyone have any good ideas to share.

So what do you do?

Micro fibre cloth for me - though I have been know to take the shower caps from hotel rooms and use them too :-)

I carry a small collapsible umbrella. Covers camera, lens and me too!

Chamois to extend the lens hood works for me.

Always wear a Berghaus waterproof hat, covers lens perfectly! (i do have a hooded jacket too!)

I use a Lee universal hood, and if it's really coming down a microfibre cloth draped over the hood.

Mark, quite interested in this, I see on WEX that there seem to be 3 versions, just wondered what one you use and what lens?

I think it's the standard good I've got, I'd like the wide angle but it is a) bulky and b) expensive.

I use it on the following lenses:

Mamiya 45mm 2.8, 80mm 2.8 and 150mm 3.5 no vignetting on any

Schneider 47mm Super Angulon no vignetting

Canon 17-40, 24-105, 24mm TS-E, all can vignette if you extend the good too far. 135mm f2 and 100-400 no problems.
