What do you use?

I got drenched last night at Gateshead, had the usual, base layer, t shirt, jumper, fleece and Rain Jacket on, waterproof pants and at the end of the game I was soaking wet

Time to look into a new rain jacket I think

What would you guys recommend?

I'm talking 90 minutes of this

2 hrs of constant rain..it usualy finds a way through mate.. I have a reggata coat thats windproof and waterproof it zips right up to the chin... but if heavy rain i have a cheap but thick heavy waterproof coat i got from an outdoor shop.. not even a make.. i put that over the top of everything.. its double size i need so fits over coat the lot ;)
 
I bought a hooded & sleeved rain poncho type thing. It folds up in it's own bag & sits in my rucksack as insurance (along with the camera waterproofing) :)

I thought that but got alittle frustrates as I had a hat on, the rain jacket hood over the top, when I took the waterproofs and hat off I had a wet head :lol:

I use a hooded Swedish jacket from Fjallraven with a breathable membrane, and as I am usually on my motorbike I have goretex tetile trousers and goretex boots too. Also, I always have a baseball hat as the peak under the jacket hood keeps the rain off my face and out of my eyes.
 
I have an old (15 years?) barbour jacket that I recently reproofed and a long wax riding coat with a wax hat just to make sure I stay dry, they keep me dry for all day equestrian events and as the wax does have its own aroma you may even find there is an added bonus if people move a bit further away from you and give you more room to get a shot!
 
I would not now be without my north face plasma jacket - i can just throw it on over a t shirt and be guaranteed warm even in freezing conditions.
 
Paramo. Been using it for about 7 years now and never, ever had water inside the jacket when fastened up correctly. Just come back from Simons seat (Yorkshire Dales, Wharfedale) and with howling wind/rain/hailstone at 300 to 485 mtrs, bone dry inside.

Hi. I got a Peter Storm jacket and trousers in Millets in the sale last year. Haven't had to put it to a real test, but its been great so far. Both are lightweight so easy to carry in the backpack. For the winter I've a Charity shop jacket. Its been mostly dry and cold here all winter, and I missed the worst of the weather.
