Hi guys

Just setting up my Godox AD600B flash for a wee shoot tomorrow for a friend. I’ve never used it before so just trying to familiarise myself with it.

I have the option to set it to radio transmission or optical transmission. Can someone please tell me the difference and where I should have it set?

Many thanks,

Ravinder

Presumably you’re using an appropriate transmitter, what transmission method does it use?

Radio can work blind… that means that the transmitter
must not have "visual contact" with the receiver. Radio
has a much greater radius of operation and a more re-
liable function.

Optical is a light signal that MUST be seen by the recei-
ver and is often failing in daylight conditions.

Given the choice, I'd go radio… all the way.
