Seriously thinking of biting the bullet and buying a Canon R5. I would like to use my existing lenses, Canon EOS 24-105mm and 70-200mm. I do not understand the lens adaptors, so which adaptor would I need, the EF-EOS R control ring or EF-EOS R adaptor.

Either will work it just depends on whether or not you want the control ring.

RF lenses have a control ring which you can assign to various things like changing ISO or Exposure Compensation etc. The adapter with control ring just gives that functionality to EF lenses.

If you get the adapter without the control ring then the lens just works as it would on a DSLR.

There is also a third adapter which allows you to drop in filters but it and the filters are a bit pricey.
