I am considering upgrading my PS 1400 A3 printer to the Epson R3000. Does anyone have the R3000 and what is the difference (Apart from an extra £10 per ink cartridge!). I am keen on the idea that the R3000 can print from a roll of paper as opposed to Sheet Cuts. Also i have been told that it can print onto canvas, has anyone tried this? and what were the results? I have been using the 1400 for 2 years now and have had no problems with it and i have been satisfied with the results but i now feel it is time to provide a more professional result to my portrait customers and would like to know if the upgrade would provide such results.

Thanks in advance for any feedback

you can use the 1400 to print onto canvas and roll paper (it just doesnt have the holder)

the R3000 is pigment and has 3 blacks so gives cast free B&W. the carts are bigger and you can also get refillable carts from fotospeed.

I have owned the 1400, and now use the R3000. Both printers are superb. The R3000 has a better range of inks as the previous poster has said and the inks from the photo speed are a lot cheaper than the Epson inks. I have had no problems with them, but i might add that i use these in an amature way. If you want to see some examples click on my Flickr site.
