Hi

Can anyone recommend any quick release straps suitable for a Nikon d3100.

I hate having the strap on when doing long exposures as it sometimes causes camera shake in the wind.

I have also read that they sometimes they can come open unexpectedly when they hit off clothing. Not sure if this is the case.

Any help advice would be appreciated.

Thanks
Karl

Optech Pro Strap very comfortable to use and has clips so it can be released.

Not had mine very long but I've not seen any comments on the various reviews/forums I've read about them coming undone unexpectedly...

Looks good but the clips being it the very top of the neck cushion makes me thing that there is a lot of strap still hanging lose from the camera. I was wanting something something that could be unclipped and not cause a nuisance if just carrying the camera by hand.

Using the Optech system you can customise it any way you want http://optechusa.com/system-connectors.html

I use the sling strap adapter with the pad worn over my shoulder, the uni loop should be short enough for you in conjunction with extensions and a neck pad

Do you use Arca swiss plates on your camera?

I use a Black Rapid which I have converted to Arca Swiss with a Kirk 1 inch clamp attached to the BR FastenR, it clamps up on my L bracket, when I want to use my tripod I slacken off the clamp on the BR, remove the camera and it drops straight onto my tripod.

If you don't use Arca you could use an M Plate, http://www.customslr.com/products/m-plate-pro

I stitch permanent short camera strap loops to the camera and then use the optech hooks. There's only maybe an inch of 'loop' on the camera.
