Quick question regarding ebay, paypal and parcels not showing up

Right i sold this lady a playstation 3 a week or so ago that came free with my contract phone. She claims it hasnt turned up. I believe her to be honest... Now... What happens next? Its insured for 250, what she paid for it. And i sent it last monday, its now been 7 days. Via standard parcel.

What happens next?

For Standard Parcels you should allow 15 working days before Royal Mail consider the package lost. Tuesday the 15th was the last posting date for Standard Parcels to arrive for Christmas, so fingers crossed it'll arrive in time.

You deserve a rap over the knuckles for not using a tracked service such as Special Delivery Next Day.
 
I know I know, ive used regular post many times with no issue and decided since the buyer only paid 14 pounds postage, i didnt want to step up to the 30 pounds special delivery.
 
Sorry to say, but a week is only 5 working days, so basically another two full weeks before it's officially "lost". For something of that value a courier service would have been much cheaper, much safer and much quicker.

I doubt it.

I believe a boxed PS3 is about 7kg, which would be £21.65 for Next Day Special Delivery with £500 insurance. DHL through Interparcel would be £15.85 with £250 cover, and I would NOT use DHL!

Part of the problem with couriers/carriers is that they bomb around to tight schedules, with the packages unsecured in the back of the van.

Trust me you can get a courier delivery for much less than £21.65.

Whereas the Royal Mail have special fluffy marshmallow vans to protect all the stuff they deliver :lol:

although we send item's out reguar about 20 a day we only get charged £5.50 next day delivery and tracked up to 10 Kilo's

i would use parcel's to go they collect from you and give you a accurate price too

I had this happen on an old ( and broken ) laptop once. It was insured for the sum paid on Ebay.

Royal Mail asked for proof of the sale, copies of Ebay/Paypal transaction were enough and proof of postage.

It was not a quick process, they wrote to the person at the delivery address to check it had not been delivered etc. But they did pay out.

BTW this was the last time I used standard postage and not RMSD for Ebay.

Stuffing the vans with mailbags helps. In contrast, an eBay eejit sent me a lens in a Jiffybag via ParcelForce. It didn't survive, but could well have done if sent via RMSD.

www.parcel2go.com state £6.49+VAT for 1-3 day delivery with £50 compensation cover. Lower prices if sending more than three parcels, which isn't relevant to many people.
 
Yeah, I had a similar thing happen to me, only I was the buyer. Never received the camera, the guy accidently posted via standard parcel ninsured. I know now to ALWAYS send RMSD/insured/tracked. It just isn't worth saving the few bob in the event it doesn't arrive. :'(
 
Shes being a complete idiot about it to be honest, cant stand the lady.

Oh and get this, she actually stated she doesn't want it delivered by anyone other than royal mail, so i had no choice anyway.
 
Well i know for a fact i posted it. I have the proof of that. I have the money out of my paypal. So she can go whistle if she expects any kind of refund on my part.
