I'm looking into doing a couple of photo books. One is for my team that I shoot for (as seen in the Sports Section) and the other is because I want to take photos of my son and every year, I want to put together a photobook to distribute to my family.

I'm looking on how to accomplish this, around what amount of photos I need, If they will allow for annotations, and a hardcover.

Something I am trying to avoid are those pre-framed pages. you know the ones I'm talking about hopefully. Where they put your photo in a green frame and there is a whole bunch of negative space.

Any help would be great. Thanks!

I put some together recently via One Vision Imaging's website - I could customise as much as I wanted, add text etc. they have software that you download - my only tip is to put all the photos you want to using a dedicated folder on your PC and don't delete/rename until after you've sent the book to print (I learnt the hard way that the software just links to the originals rather than taking/saving a copy!)

I was very pleased with the finished products too :-D

If you are not a pro and dont want to register with a pro only company like loxley, have a look at vanilla

I rather like blurb for a simple photo book. Good quality and not hideously expensive.

Snappish are doing a free 20 page photo book until 16 sept with just the delivery charge. Not so good in your situation where you would want one for the whole year, but if you have some other big moments you would like in a book, it may be worth a look.

It will also mean you can have a look at one of their books and see if you like how they work.

That is actually perfect. I can throw a book together to see how I like it, and if the layout is what i like, I will return.

Thanks a bunch!
