Yes
Came across a bronze medallion which appears to relate to the 1982 British Grand Prix, on the back it's engraved "Mike Barrett"...

Anyone have any idea about what it actually is? Is it something with any value or is it a case of free-with-4 gallons-of-four-star?

Not a name that rings any bells - what about a commemorative medal given out to the marshals?

You could probably find out for sure by joining/asking on Autosport's 'The Nostalgia Forum' or Ten Tenth's 'Marshal's Forum' ... they're the sort of places where Mike Barrett will show up himself and post a picture of his anorak! ;)

It could be something like that, in fact it probably is. Unless there was a booth selling them :suspect:

i did a google and wiki search and ive drawn a blank im afraid, defo not a driver.

without seeing the coin it would be difficult to create a timeline (especially conisidering for me when the British GP 1982 was taking place i was ~ Tminus 2 months!

It's just a big medal/coin sort of thing with British Grand Prix 1982 and a pic of a single seater race car on it and the name engraved on the back

Most definately not a driver, not even in the lower formula from what I can tell, but commemorative item sounds most likely

He's going to turn out to be the guy who cleaned the toilets, isn't he?
