Question: 'Editoral Photos'?

I have been given permission to use photos from the Conservative Party website as they are allowed to be used by individuals and for editoral use. I emailed them my website and they just replied with it's fine if it's for personal or editoral use. So I guess my website falls under editoral? I know I can't use it to promote, and I'm not - however, I do have one ad for Amazon on the site, but the photos are not being used to advertise the ad.

So, am I in the clear?

The main thing it's trying to stop is you adding extra words on to the photo to turn it into some kind of advertisement.

That's fantastic, I'll be contacting other parties then to see if they'll let me. And to be fair I will credit their respective part website underneath the image.
 
You don't have to credit them if they are marked as free for editorial use and contain no by line on them.

I get loads of this type of image sent to me for PR purposes.
