Hi folks, I've been thinking about getting myself a lighting setup for the house but only thing holding me back is the height of my ceilings. I have plenty of roomsapce but the ceilings are the drawback, they are about 8 foot maybe 8 and a half foot high and I realise I'm going to struggle to get a light above people with this limitation. So I was wondering if anyone else is in a similar situation and how they overcome or deal with this.

I had though about fitting some sort of reflector to the ceiling itself and using it to bounce light back down onto subjects if needed, would this work at all or am I just being fanciful?

Tommy.

That's a pretty normal height, not good but definately usable

It would make more sense to go in the opposite direction, paint the ceiling matt black so that reflected light from the ceiling doesn't kill the control of your lighting

Yeah, not ideal but very useable.

If you put a white or silver reflective brolly on a boom you can have it literally touching the ceiling.
