Ok so I would like (as most landscape photographers would) to get a shot of a poppy field. From my little knowledge I know these are fairly rare, but they can appear in wheat fields, of which there are a few near me.

The poppies in our garden are out but I could not see any in the few wheat fields I have wondered through. I'm just wondering if anyone has come across any in the Derbyshire/Staffordshire Area?

I have seen numerous watercolours which are supposedly of the area I live with vivid poppy fields, but I have never seen one. Any advice?

Are wheat fields the right type of area to be looking?

l shall be hunting for such a field myself soon. l got some super shots last year in North East Lincolnshire, but as you say, its a rare sight unfortunately. l just had to drive around.

I cover most of Derbyshire each week, but still not seen one. I would appreciate a heads up if someone does see one. I would be happy with just a few in a wheat field!!

l saw 6 today by the side of the road, but didnt have my camera with me.

l have tried to grow them too....never ever managed it!
