Quantum power pack & 580 EX flash.

I have just got the Quantum Turbo SC battery pack to use with my Canon 580 EX flash. Now can any of you tell me if I should change the 580 EX custom function 07 (Recharging conditions When Using External Power Supply).
Should I have this on:

(0) Both with the flash unit and the external power supply.
(1) Only with the external power supply.

id have it at 0 so you have batteries to power the onboard systems and the Turbo just powers the head.. it'll save any drain on the Turbo..

The batteries still power the sytem even when switched to the 1 position.
It's just setting where the power comes from in a flash recharge.

No, have it so u only use the pack to power the head, you dont want to drain the batteries.. what ever you do just have the batts power the systems and the pack for the head.. :bonk:

Thought that was right, if I had it set to function (0) then when the AA set stop working the Quantum would also stop working.
