Well today is D-Day, off to college in a little while to see what grade I got for AS Photography!!!! I know its not the best course to take, but it all helps!! Be back later today with the results!
 
Dayyyym, I've got Graphics, Media, Geography and .... English Lit

OK back with the results, not very happy, got an E. Tutor thinks we should appeal, as I was predicted a B lol

still got the qualification though, which is what mattered the most to me! lol

Is an E still a pass like it is for 'A' level (or was 26 years ago when I took them)?

Old fashioned 'O' levels used to be passes at A, B or C and failures at D, E and F so getting an E at 'A' level felt like a fail even though you knew it was a pass.

A couple of years back I got my AS and A2 photography results but have since found it very hard to find further courses with a higher qualification whilst also having a full time job.

Are you going to do the A2 year?
 
Yes it is still a pass, just not the pass I was predicted for :)

I cant make the A2 year due to work commitments, but would love to! I to am finding it tricky to mix education with work, and with working in retail its all over the place!
 
if you do end up doing the A2 at some point and get a better grade it will bring your overall grade up when you achieve the overall "A" level.

thats good news, do still want to do it but just cannot commit for the next year :(

Go for the appeal. If your tutor predicted a 'B' then even on a bad day you'd probably have expected a 'C'.
Sometimes these things are down to clerical errors. Sometimes the examiner can't add up properly (sadly I'm not kidding :'()

If your tutor supports you then presumably your college will pay any appeal fee?

The worst that can happen if you appeal is that they don't change your grade.

P.S. Whatever happens - well done - that's one more qualification in photography than I've got.
