Hey all, I've a 3LT L bracket and it's got a QD connection. I'm looking to get a QD male one for use with my Peak design strap and see several on amazon and ebay but does anyone have a recommendation as I'd like something reliable rather than some cheapo rubbish ending up with a smashed camera?

Have used the Magpul QD Adapters for years with no problems at all (y)

Little update, couldn't source a magpul connector outside of the USA :( so did some checking for other tactical shops with good recommendations and found a qd swivel on https://www.tactical-kit.co.uk/d-loop-heavy-duty-push-button-qd-swivel-1x22-33747-p.asp and have fitted a strap today, damned if it didn't let go and drop camera onto my wooden floor. Luckily all working and no damage.
At first thought id hit the release when adjusting the strap, but when i sat down and connected it again, it comes out of the qd socket with very little force!!

Found another gun shop (Brownings) which states it's in uk but with a magpul which i've ordered now , probaby be 14 days though so will wait and see, only other thing if that also does it is that the l brackets defective!

I searched and found this UK stockist supplier....is this what you seek?

I use a Black Rapid shoulder strap with QD connector. I sourced this in the UK but I believe they are now discontinued.
I connect to a Hejnar plate on the Z8 (bought direct from Hejnar USA)

Leofoto supply a range of QD conectors and also a magpul style camera strap so I assume the fit will be exact.
Some of the camera shops sell Leofoto.

I use the Leofoto QD connectors to carry my tripod. I must admit I use a Sunwayfoto strap for this - I had one already and I'm too tight to buy a Leofoto one (would be different if I was using it witha body.)

See below my set up on the Z8 with the BR QD strap attached to a Hejnar QD plate. Note my safety tether which I always use, just in case the QD fails.

You can buy a BR safety tether that affixes at one end to the lens plate and the other to the camera strap clip. Park sell them.

I use a OP Tech connector (XL has longer loops which I need) wich I can easily click on and off if I remove the camera.

Yeah, can find the BR sport camo with qd but it's a lot of money for a strap that I don't like due to the extra bit that goes under the armpit etc nearest i could find is the https://www.parkcameras.com/shop/bl...VLLFTCJqG8Yt1Hvnl5Nq2kdyYe0FGFlBoCicEQAvD_BwE at park cameras but it's not a qd system.

I've actually looked closer at my current one from tactical and note that I can fairly easily push in the ball bearings in the shaft so now im suspecting a duff swivel, I've emailed them.

This all started as I was in fact making myself a strap from scratch that meets all my needs.

The Magpul items seem pretty robust, had a D5 and 500mm hanging on one loads of times (y)

Fitted mine onto a BR Dual Harness and BR Sport Strap (the one without that under arm thing).

Pretty sure I got mine from Brownells.

Edit: I've only used the Magpul in conjunction with Kirk base plates/lens mounts/L brackets.

Magpul (and similar) QD's connectors/sockets are made of steel. The amazon ones (and similar) are made of aluminum which is obviously a softer material. To compensate they set the locking ring inside the socket a bit lower, leaving a bit more material for reinforcement. The 3LT is a steel insert; it could be removed and the top edge ground down a little to allow the Magpul QD to engage fully. But not really necessary; I don't expect you will have an issue with the Amazon connector.

IMO, the best QD's are made by Strike Industries. They are low profile and have side pinch release mechanism... makes them extremely hard to accidentally release. But they are also not suited for deeper set QD sockets.
