Can I ask the assembled expertise in the F&C section what PX625 alternatives people are using? I need one for my OM-1 and another couple for one of my old light meters.

Supplier I use in the past now sys they can't supply a 1.35V equivelent.

Any advice gratefully received

I always use adapters from Paul BG http://www.paulbg.com/px625uk.html but according to his website he's out of stock at the moment.

So email Jon Goodman JGood21967@aol.com of light seals fame, he sells a similar little battery shell that you insert 675 hearing aid batteries into that supplies the 1.35-1.4 volts that the old PX625 mercury batteries supplied ($14)

Both are top guys to deal with and have no problem recommending either of them.

I use the mr9 converter I think it's called from the small battery co. it's more expensive but you can use the silver oxide batteries. The hearing aid ones can run down quick

Many thansk for all the responses. I am following up on a number of leads, although in the longer term I think I will get one of the MR9 adaptors.

Again, thanks for the informative assistance

Well I just use the 1.5v silver oxide batteries and adjust the ASA.....good enough for colour neg film. I have a few cameras which used the old mercury batteries and e.g. my Konica Autoreflex TC was only 1/2 stop out with the two 1.5v batteries.

Not really very helpful but I was looking for the same battery a while back, cheapest I could find was a bout £4 a pop. Went to Poland on holiday and tried my luck there (didn't have much choice), got a replacement for a zloty (20p). Happy days.

I had thought about this, just wondered whether the higher voltage might not be good for my ageing Oly. I think I will try this approach in my meter through and recalibrate it against my Sekonic.

It's a shame you didn't bring a bumper box back, there might have been a market for them!
