As the title says really, how do I go about putting an image inside another image? Obviously I'd have to resize one, and make sure there's enough space on the other, but how do I actually put one on top of the other?
Fairly new to Layers, but very good at following tutorials, written ones especially.

Thanks in advance.

ctrl-A, then copy and paste works fine, then ctrl-T to alter the size

Thanks.

In photoshop you can just drag and drop from one pic onto another.. then you get to resize rotate or whatever as it automatically becomes a layer BUT dont let that worry you.. you dont even need to know its a layer..

Knowing layers is the way to go.. but for simplicity...drag and drop :)

Can anyone recomend any good tutorials for photoshop. Its great to learn from the forum but would be nice to have a tutorial

Using layers is the best way to do it.

Have the pic you want in the background open, click on place (This means the new image comes in as a smart object so it's a lot easier to work with it) Chose the pic you want to embed and it will appear over the top of the background one.

Now you can resize it just by pulling it to the right size (You can also lock the proportions by clicking on the little lock button up on the toolbar in between the dimensions) Once it is the right size and place just click the tick button and it's in.

The other great thing about doing it this way is that you can also change the opacity of the layers so you can have a muted background image with a 100% solid image in it.

Hope that's of use. :)
