Has anyone out there in this fine forum managed to get their OS X device to talk to their Ps3?

If possible I'd like to stream music and movies from my mac.. (inc drobo storage).. to my PS3

Can't seem to get them to find each other over a wifi network :cuckoo:

That looks great

For such a low price, it's got to be worth a go.

Before I do though, how well does it stream hd movies?

As I said, I've never used that software. I used their software for the Xbox and that worked very well for my music, photos and videos, although to be honest I never did to much of the video stuff.

I use apple tv now so no longer us their software, but if the ps3 software is as good as the Xbox then I would recommend it.

I'm pretty sure if you download it you get a trial period to test it out though.

It looks to be the same software for xbox and ps3 just given a few tweaks.

I have been toying with the appleTV but it kind of seems a little too good to be true, I'd like to see one working really to decide for my self.

That of course will open up a whole issue for me as both of my TV's hdmi cables are being used by my dvdr and ps3

I suppose I could upgrade my cinema amp for one that has hdmi in and out and run all the hdmi sources into the amp before outputting to TV. Some of the amps have airplay though now ......duplicated feature sets :runaway:

:D

The apple tv is fantastic for photos and music, but obviously you are limited to what iTunes will play when it comes to the movies etc. whereas the null river software will transcode multiple formats on the fly.

We have also subscribed to Netflix which is fairly good for £5.99/month. Movies from iTunes are way to expensive so we don't even go there.

To be honest if it wasn't for the fact that I got my apple tv in lieu of work I did for a friend, I would not have bought one myself. The Xbox worked perfectly streaming from my mac.

I use Rivet to play video on my xbox - site says it also works with ps3, and best of all it is now free!

You can select folders to show, so i assume you can also use network folders ie drobo

Thanks Phil

I'll have a look at Rivet before i do anything else
