Hi Guys

How do you find the performance of the ITV player and BBC iPlayer through your PS3?

iPlayer tends to buffer a bit at the start of programs for me, but I cant seem to get the itv player to work. It buffers and plays for a second and then flashes up an error screen saying that the internet connection caused the program to be reset.

I'm on 38mb cable to the premises and the Ps3 is connected to the internet via wifi in the same manner as my ipad but the itv player app on ipad works fine at the same time as the PS3 gives up

Mine is terrible too. I started with iplayer again today having given up on it months ago. And I've given up again. It truly is a joke

Also 4od tends to only show me up to the first advert break..

+1 for above.

We have a home ethernet system using the mains socket and use something like this:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Netgear-200Mbps-Powerline-Ethernet-Adapter/dp/B007JD6LBS/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1352793838&sr=1-1

When I got the PS3 and set it up as a wi-fi - on-line games were unplayable, iPlayer buffered so much we gave up on it.

Got something similiar to the above (different brand name) - it really is plug and play (all you have to do is change the PS3 settings from wi-fi) and no issues since.

Though I have been told that it works best if it is on the same electrical ring - modem is down-stairs and so is the PS3 - I have not tried it with the PS3 upstairs.

My router is upstairs and the ps3 is down stairs on the opposite side of the house so running an Ethernet cable is a no go. Playing online is fine, I get great pings and haven't noticed any lag since going on to optical fibre. The wifi signal shows as over 90% too.

I'm thinking that the tv functionality just sucks tbh, might just buy Apple TV and stream itv player off the iPad to tv.

I use direct cable not wifi, still poor at times. My Apple TV downstairs is run off home plugs and is much better

There's a problem with the 4OD player and the version of the browser that is used by default on the PS3. If you actually launch the browser app and search for the 4OD site then book mark it and use that in stead, it works fine. It was driving my GF crazy when it kept freezing on her so I googled it and hey ho, it works perfect now.

I can't be bothered with the hassles tbh, I've been considering Apple Tv for a while now so I'll get that and use the airplay functionality :)

Can't be bothered? :bonk: They've got to be the easiest things in the world to set up. Plug, Plug, Roberts your fathers brother. Wired connection.

Even with the wired connection iplayer is constantly buffering.

You must have a pretty bad connection. Ours is at best 3MB and it streams fine. So does LoveFilm. We watch them all the time.
