. . . as some of my Folkestone-related photos I took in the past 12 months has got printed in this week's Folkestone Herald newspaper!
I emailed that small collection of images to that newspaper three weeks ago and forgot all about it, so you can image the surprised look on my face when I accidentally came across them as I casually flicked through the pages!
Okay, it's only the local rag so it may not be a big deal in itself but can't help feeling proud anyway! :)

There is a little story behind it, those pictures was a response to a youtube video made by a media student that really put Folkestone down by suggesting how much of a dump the town it is. That got my goat as I've lived in Folkestone since I was 4 (I'm 42) and I believe the town has it's own special charm and I proved my point with my pictures.

 Nice one Ian - please post some here,

I would be pleased too if that were me, well done :)

Congrats, but you know some press guy can't afford to buy tomatoes now? :exit:

Nice wee cheque to look forward to in a few days eh?

Cheers for the lovely replies. :) Not sure how I would get paid for it, but here's some of the pictures I sent them. All taken in the past 12 months:

Well done Ian. Perhaps you should organise a meet in Folkestone?!

:) :) Cheers, King.

Mind you, I am quite a private person so I'm not quite ready to organise meet ups. :D But I wonder how long will it be before I bump into a TP reader? Or perhaps they have been passing by me without me realising it.
