Hello all

I'm off to Namibia and Botswana in the South of Africa for a month to study development as part of a university study. We will be staying in a variety of places from cheap hotels down to very basic camping in the North of the country. Much of the time will however be spent in the desert or dry dusty environments.

My questions to you is what is the best way to keep sand and dust out of my gear when its not in use. Aside from a standard camera bag. Can anyone recommend some durable sealed bags or other ways they have dealt with similar situations?? Or any other advice for operating in such an environment.

Thanks in Advance

Russ

resealable freezer bags

(and the same to you!)

Cheap shower cap (available free in all quality hotel rooms) over body & second covering lens works a treat.

Put your camera bag in a bin bag. And resign yourself to the fact you'll get dust in everything. BTDTGTTS

Cheers guys, i was just thinking freezer bags but thought there may have been a few better solutions! I'm just going to be as careful as poss and sort everything out when i get home
