:( Why doesn't mine work - argh. It just keeps crashing, can't do anything with it. 5 hours later and I still haven't managed to get slideshow done for Mum & Dad. Getting right hump now.

I have cleaned my laptop of all my pictures and files etc, they're all on my external hard drive now so it's not a memory problem, what could it be?

Someone help before I throw my laptop out the window.......

Plus, how do I get rid of 7 dust bunnies out of 500 photos?:(:(:(

If you have Photoshop, open as many as you can in ACR, use the retouch tool on one image to heal the bunnies, then select all the images and synchronise them. Would work with Lightroom too. Of course this will only work if the images are similar enough for the same clone points to work with all the photo's... otherwise it may make even more of a mess. Prolly a long shot but it might help... :)

How big are the image files you're using. You don't need really high resolution images as you're going to be watching them on a computer or tv screen. I've found that this can be the casue of many a proshow crash.

No help - just consolation. I had Proshow v1 a while ago and it was brilliant. Generated small file sizes, so you could get lots of pics on a disc, but still excellent image quality on a 42 in screen, and it was quick to generate the slideshow.

I tried v2 last year and it was appalling. Huge file sizes, literally hours to create the slideshow, and crashes galore. I went back to v1.

Hi Kelack I'm not sure ,,I think it maybe that you can only put a total of 100 images per show,, im only makiing this connection because you have said about 500 images with dust bunnies, try it with a smaller amount of pics,,,,

Regards Sue:)

I will give it a go with individual ones, thanks though

Mmmm, you have a point there - I'm using the files straight out of camera as such so hadn't thought of reducing the size........you may have helped, I'll have a go when I geet in from work, thanks

Puzzled as I think I have used over 100 before. I think it may be the problem that has been stated above, the files are too big

Thanks all for your replies and sorry for only replying today, we went to my parents and just took my laptop round and watched them on that in the end and when I got home, I couldn't be bothered to set the laptop back up again as I was knackered.

S'alright, let me know how it goes

Done - thanks so much. I've even put captions on every single one and written intros to each of the villages we went to and a potted history of Santorini. So much easier, although I think I've compressed them too much as they look a bit soft now, but hey, never mind, it's just for my Mum & Dad and my Grandparents

I think that's what's commonly called a result.
