What is the best format for music files in a proshow slideshow?

I'm using MP3. I'm having probs with show playback quality and was told it could be the music file but I don't think it is. Thought I'd check.

check the rate of the mp3 , i normally use 192 , any less and i can see qualility problems

you would have to re sample the mp3 track and save it out a the bitrate you want with an mp3 editing package

to be honest i have never had a problem with mp3 bitrates and proshow
what happens if you render the slideshow without the music track in place ?
is the quality improved and whats suffering image quality or frame rate ?
