How do people promote their own websites?

Just looking for ideas

I have a sig, but for some reason it has stopped showing up on my posts... now idea why...
 
and if by magic it has started to show up again - how daft!

and now it's gone again!


and now back again! what is going on??
 
not sure what is going on here - it's there its not - perhaps it's a mystery machine signature
 
Your sig will only show up once on one page to keep the usage down. I think that's what i read someware. I really must stop reading all the posts from the start of the forum and get out with my camera.:bonk:
 
I think signatures only show once per thread, and also only if your message/reply has a certain amount of characters/words in it.

It depends on who you want to promote it too. If you are selling your services as a photographer, having your URL on a forum full of photographers isn't going to be much good.

Other ways of promoting your website:

Watermark images you post anywhere with your URL
Sticker on your car
Adwords
 
I don't sell our pictures - as there is way to much competition... we just do it for fun.. just wanting to get other peoples views on how they promote there own websites... :)
