Hi, welcome to my project 52. I was thinking of a theme and decided to go with using a new photographic or editing technique each week.

So hopefully by the end of the year I will have learned to use 52 new photographic or editing techniques. I'm not sure if this will work, but I'll give it a damn good go.

Full set of pics can be found here CLICKY

C&C welcome

WEEK 1 LIGHTING FROM BELOW

Always fancied giving this a go, I used a white acrylic sheet on the front of my softbox.
The shell was only about 1.5cm so it was taken at 70mm with a raynox 250.
Editing was B&W conversion then split toned the shadows to blue.

Good luck in this I will be keeping myself updated on your project.

Good luck Lee and cant wait to see what you come up with. Love the shell

WEEK 2 HATCHET LIGHTING

Never had the chance to try this yet, so when I was asked I jumped at the chance. Not as easy as I first thought, just one inch movement changed the effect completely.

Shot at 50mm @ f8. 2 softboxes one to the left almost 90 degrees f8, the second below to the right 45 degrees f2.8

WEEK 3 SMOKE PHOTOGRAPHY

My 1st go at smoke photography. Must admit I'm very pleased with the result, this is straight out of the camera, single exposure, no PP at all.

Black acrylic table, jessops 360 flash used off camera fitted with a home made gridspot.

WEEK 7 BACK LIGHTING GLASS

About the trickiest lighting I have done so far, some of the shots the glasses looked dirty (they weren't, honest). Ages before I got something I was happy with.

2x softboxes on background (5 in 1 reflector) and honeycombed studio light from behind and above.

Great work mate. I'll have try some of these myself

Lee..i've only just found your thread...but what inspiration you've given...and thanks for detailing what equipment you used. i definitely like the last for its stark simplicity..you may not be following the P52 themes, but great twist...

Inspiration  well thanks. Thanks for the comment on the portrait too. I wanted to do a 52 but didn't really want to do the TP one as I wanted to do something for me. This seemed a good theme as it pushes me to something different each week.
