NIce - tell me you got two mirrors there.
Something about this that messes with my head :-)

Very nice  Good implementation. I'm with Richard about the two mirrors, the Easyvision bottle in the foreground is lying, there's nothing easy about that

very clever :D

I like the mono treatment - fits the subject. It has the look of an old postcard and it took me a while to work out what it was - an absence of yellow lines, traffic and as far as I can see, modern street furniture such as lamp posts and pillar boxes. Well observed.

:)

Jean

Superb History shot, as Jean said, nothing modern there at all. That spellings shot is also really good for Learning. Love the DOF you got, that really works well.

Like the history shot. B&W conversion works well and the image fits the theme perfectly. Really like this weeks shot. Great interpretation. Lovely capture. Good dof, nice detail and lovely colours

Damn I missed these :) So in catching up...

The reflection - a nice slice of infinity - meets the brief several times over :)

History - yep that image is steeped in it :) I think a touch more contrast would have improved the image a touch but nice enough :)

Learning - lovely image - super viewpoint and a really great dof that really works for me and hits the subject spot on

I agree with the above, perfect DF on the learning shot there. Very good & imaginative.
Did you take a shot where you included all her hand, I can't help noticing the two clipped knuckles (May just be me though)

I wish I got to these threads sooner as I just end up repeating what others have said!

ANYWAY - I like the composition of the History shot but agree that it could do with a bit more contrast. The learning shot is great in that it doesn't actually look posed but you have managed to get the tricky things like DOF spot on

Yet another week 2 I missed :(

It definitely fits the brief and I agree it could do with a little more contrast - but that's why we do this isn't it ;) It would probably look good in sepia too.

And your learning shot, what can I say, great subject, great DoF, great interpretation. Definitely your best yet :clap:

Love week 3 , great DOF :clap::clap:

Yep, me too, great image for learning. The DOF and the hand in action make it a lovely shot.

Nice shot for learning, I could never do that as never see daughter doing her homework

THe first one confused me for a while there :clap:

Liking the dof on the learning one

Week 4

Would popping a balloon give you a surprise???

Yes, definitely. I'm on edge the whole time I'm in the same room as a balloon - even if it's safely hanging up out of reach. And when the grandchildren play with them I'm a nervous wreck. Party poppers are ok, but balloons are waaaaaay too unpredictable for me. :help: :baby:

It's an excellent shot - very simple and effective and fills the brief very well. I like the way the pin is, well, pin sharp, and the balloon is softer.

Jean

Oh that is so minimal and effective!

The slight indent in the balloon looks so effective! Cracking shot! Love it!

:clap::clap::clap:

I like what you did there, would be a struggle to work out what was going to happen without the caption mind - real balloon?

Real balloon....

I'd love to have had an off camera flash for this shot...but sadly funds have just been plunged in to a sigma 10-20....maybe later in the year ;)

Great image love the effect of the sharp pin and soft edge of the balloon, I bet you went though a few balloons making this image. Have you tried any other colours of balloon and different positions of the pin (e.g. vertical / horizontal, centre / 3rds etc) to see if this makes a difference to the image?

 brilliant and fits the theme really well

Simple, effective image nicely done.

Clever, clever :D!! And well done - how many takes to get it looking that good may I ask :)

How did you time/shoot this to include the writing AND your good self? (I assume thats you :))
