Project: 100 Strangers. Can I take your picture?

Love #12 there is something rather lovely about her..

Great project and I'm really liking the results. I'll keep checking back, good luck.

Excellent idea - might give something like this a go after I've done my 365 challenge :D

Subbed to follow your progress

This is a great idea! You have some lovely shots.

Can't wait to see the rest!

Brilliant idea! I've recently moved to Birmingham for university so I've been thinking about doing some street photography and trying to get a few candid shots - I've not even been able to find the courage to do that yet, never mind ask random people!

I guess it gets easier the more you do it though...

Thanks for the feedback all. When people are happy to wear 'different' hats in the streets I normally assume they'd be happy for a picture

Slow progress with more "no's" But I'll be hoping to get a few more tomorrow as I have a 35L on my camera!

Just found this - great idea:thumbs:
.
you said that you "...hand them a card with my flickr on"

Could you say a bit more about this please. (I don't yet have a flickr account)

is it the internet address

Do you have your name/e-mail address on it

?any other information

?do you hand write them or are they printed eg with '100 project'

Just interested as might have go myself

+++++++ and although I may not copy exactly what you have done it would be good to know what had already worked elsewhere.

CORECTION - Just discovered I DO have a Flickr account:bonk:

Thanks for that info. That is what I was thinking of doing - except I'd have to write my flikr account onto an existing card.

What do other people do?

I followed the link in your post and it took me some time to realise that you were not the Original Poster (as I can be a bit thick at times:))

I also looked at one or two of the notes you had made about how you met them - which is also a really good idea.

I then followed the link:

http://www.flickr.com/groups/100strangers/

and so found out that there are loads of people doing this, which again is really good as - to me - it makes it easier to explain to people what you are doing, ie part of a larger group, rather than being a lone nutter.

Apologies it's been a while since I've replied..

I have some business cards from MOO, just the half sized ones.. so When I hand them a card, they can go to flickr and see their image, and then get in touch with me

Thanks and good luck

No problem - Jonneymendoza had already give similar information and - after seeing this thread of yours - I have started my own 'Stranger' pictures (not necessarily 100 though) and give a card with e-mail and mobile phone number

I do this project on and off really. I have not posted maybe my last 10 strangers though and i think i may even have taken 100 already and dont know yet LOL.

Its just that for the last 4 months a lot of stuff has happened in my personal life. Time is of an essence really and wished there was more days in a week!

I need to sit down for a week and gather my thoughts and sort out my backlog

I have done 3 so far and posted each one separately because I needed feedback on how to improve next time - once I am almost there I will probably post only infrequently too

I love this project.

I pointed my camera at a stranger for the first time last weekend and even 20 yards away with a 200mm zoom I felt very nervous. Actually talking to strangers and getting their shots sounds like a crippling experience for me but I'm sure that if I can do it it would help me outside of photography too.

Please keep up the good work!
