ok - read a few threads here about processing...

starting to use some film again --- no home developing, no scanner

so develop and scan to CD - pp edits by me, then 8x10 prints on Epson printer - not the best printer . but ok to my old tired eyes.....

initially, develop + CD from Tesco/ASDA = £2
then when more confident, plan to use "film35" about £11

which film for landscapes
colour prints = I bought Fuji Superia 200
B&W = I bought Fuji Neopan 400 Pro

anything more suitable/better ..?. not slides........thanks

Has it occurred to you that the more you use the local Tesco, the better it will get as the chemicals get turned over?

not quite following you on that one, cos the "processing machine" looked quite busy when I was there..........

Surely in that case then you should wait and see what the quality is before spending even more money?

No, really. I mean the main issue with supermarket minilabs is the slow turnover and settling/old chemicals. Find a busy one and you could be surprised.

....and also to stop Tesco from ditching film. And another thing that's useful is getting the money vouchers sent to you and getting your films done for free.

anyway.....regardless of cost...

Colour Print - Reala Press pack from this guy on fleabay... 20 rolls for £20 - it's out of date but been frozen, so it's fine, just keep it in the fridge.

as for Black and White - are you after C41 B&W or "Proper" stuff ... for the proper stuff, i'd try the Legacy Pro from Digitaltruth. The 100 is a lovely fine grain landscape film - i've just souped some this evening. The 400 is supposed to be Neopan 400 pro under a different packaging  I've a couple of rolls of it in the fridge but haven't shot any yet to give a definitive review.

Tbh, quite a few better for landscapes (depending on personal preference of course). Superia is cheap and cheerful but quite grainy and very meh and why the need for 400 speed B+W? Is it Neopan BW400CN or just 400? I'd look at Porta 160 VC/maybe Ektar+Fuji equivalents and Pan F/FP4+/Arcros 100/Legacy 100/Adox 25 for B+W.

Same Reala film as above, Tesco dev and scan to CD and touched up in Photoshop:-

This shot still looks quite good 8' across (moving across my monitor) re-scanned with a V750.

If you want pretty colours you can play with Reala

what does this mean..?
I bought Fuji Neopan 400CN Pro from Glasgow camera shop
at the time I "think" she said this was all they had that could be developed by Tesco
as others had to be sent to a lab ?..................thanks

thanks Fuji Neopan 400 CN Pro was all the camera shop had in C41 process
which she said could be developed at Tesco

should emphasize I plan to use Tesco - develop onto CD - till I get better and use/afford a lab - maybe "Film35"
