Help required please,as you can see, whilst messing about with the image in CS5, I've got 2 patches of dark blue on either side of the image ,how can I make the sky one colour /remove the dark patches, ??
Thanks

Did you have a polariser on the lens - sometimes they can cause this effect when used at wide angles a little too strong.

I either use the vignette feature in ACR (adding a positive value, not negative) or grab the adjustment brush and brush over those areas and try to blend it in using exposure and brightness.

It's not that easy to do normally and it takes a while so I do that as a last resort - i.e. I never took any others with the polariser a little less strong.

I don't think you need to remove the darker patches - that area of the sky would be darker than the middle anyway, I do however think you need to extend the right hand side right to the edge.

You can either clone this or, I would probably create a dodge burn layer (new layer, fill with 50%grey and change blending mode to soft light). Then use a soft black brush at about 30% opacity and flow to brush in a darker area. Conversely if you really want it lighter the use a soft white brush instead of the black.

You can also use the black to increase the shadows on the front rock to give it more impact

Hi Brian I used the colour replacement tool and clicked central on the sky then brushed over the sky and adjusted the opacity to suit ;) seemed to work a treat  I would have put up a copy but you don't give permission to edit your pics..if you want let me know and I will post it up...
