I've had some problems importing my photos into CS3 from my CF cards, this is whats happening (or not) when i used to put my card reader into the USB port, the usual box opened up and asked which program i wanted to use to upload photos, i had this set to CS3, so it just uploaded the photos, however for some reason it's stopped doing this, when i put the card reader in now, only 3 options open, they are "import pictures and videos using windows live photo gallery" or "view pictures using windows live gallery" or "take no action" so basically the options it used to give me with my various programs have disappeared, i'm sure this must be something i may have clicked on by accident that has caused this to happen, or something as minor, well at least i hope it is, so could anyone throw some light on this and help me out here, many thanks in advance :)

Photoshop isn't intended as a RAW editor. Not unless you start to stick addons like Adobe camera RAW onto your shots.

Try getting a copy of Lightroom and use this as your library and for your initial photo adjustments - you won't regret it! RAW's open straight up in Lightroom for me.

Can't you just drag your pics straight from your reader to your pc and then open them in photoshop?

Yes i could do that, but i'm trying to establish why it's not working anymore ;)

Yes i have Adobe camera RAW, and have never had a problem with editing RAW files in CS3 before, so i'm not understanding why your saying photoshop is'nt intended as a RAW editor, but my point is i can't import photos like i used too, but thanks for the comments.

You don't say what version of windows you have. In control panel on 7 there is an Auto Play item where you can set default actions. Maybe you installed something and a setting got changed?

Yes sorry should have mentioned that, i'm running XP, and yes Robert your probably right i'm sure it must be something i've done unwittingly, it's just finding it :bonk:

Anyone else got any thoughts on this ?
