Apologies for having to ask such a question.

I have just bought a manfrotto 679b monopod which has a 3/8 and 1/4 screw adapters.

OK - how do I get the 3/8 brass adapter off without damaging it please?

I just know I am going to feel so dumb and embarrassed by how easy this must be!

I don't believe that you do remove it....it's retractable isn't it?

Bob

Yep, it just pushes down to reveal the inner thread.

Thank you for replying so quickly.

And yes I do feel so stupid. You are totally correct I never thought about that I just assumed...

Is there any way to get this post removed or should I just re-register with a different user name so I don't feel so blumming stupid in future

:bonk::bang::cuckoo:

no probs, you don't ask you don't learn!

The 1st time I saw that I thought it was a fantastic piece of design but knew it would catch a few peeps out!

no stupid questions except the one you didn't ask
(it caught me out too!) :rules:

You'll be okay unless you ask the same question again next week....then it might be time to go undercover.

Thank you for letting me down gently - it was an ebay buy and there were no instructions...

...but I am pleased I asked before I destroyed the thread on the brass 3/8ths

Not a stupid question at all, at least you understood the solution :thumbs:

I had to explain the same thing to an Ebay customer 4 or 5 times before it sank in.....:shrug:
