I've just bought a new PC (bit of a beastie), however I decided to go for Vista 32bit. Maybe thats my problem, maybe not.

Anyway I've loaded PS2 and upgraded it.. faultless
Then I added Canon's Digital Photo Pro, as I did on my old XP box... perfectly

However this time the "Transfer to Photoshop" option is greyed out. :bang::thinking:

Tried re-installing both in various combinations, but to no avail.

Anyone aware of this or know of the Registry key settings required to make it work?

Thanks

bump ... someone...? please

I am have the current DPP, use Vista 32-bit and CS3 but don't usually use the transfer option you mention. however, searching the help in DPP with the word 'transfer' I found a note that stated the transfer doesn't work in Vista.

So it looks like you cannot do it. Perhaps Canon will address this in the next update of DPP. It is obvious that they are aware of the situation.

Anthony.

It's not just a Vista problem, it have XP and DPP will not transfer to CS3 on that either. Janice has asked about the same problem, and searching the internet it's a known bug between the two products.

Nobody will confirm if it's a Canon or Adobe bug, but for the moment you'll just have to work around the issue

I've just checked the documentation too .. thanks A.R. It does say it doesnt work in Vista. BAHH BAHH HUMBUG!

Thanks very much for responding.

I seem to be finding lots of things to 'work around' in Vista so far!

Also seem to be using regedit quite a bit but surprisingly the computer is still working :)

just edited the 'photo printing wizard' reg entry to make it do the 'web publishing wizard' job that XP did and Vista doesn't.

thats the problem when technology goes to the next level theres still plenty of bugs to be ironed out.

Ill stick with xp for now

What version are you guys using ? my DPP that came with the 40D bumph is 3.1.0.0
Seems it might be Upgraded machines thats the problem, I have Vista 64bit, CS 3 and DPP transfers to CS 3 no problem.
