I have self diagnosted OCD and as soon as I bought my camera, I read (most of) the manual and sought out some Podcasts: currently have around a dozen.
I'd recommend:
http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-art-of-photography/id294540619,
http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/phototips-photography-tips/id317123201,
http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/photography-101/id183589475
http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/history-photography-podcasts/id94009100.
I downloaded http://www.gimp.org/downloads/ and found it a decent tool for PP.
I also bought this class from http://www.phototips.biz/wp1/classes/photography-101 and found it very helpful indeed.
Magazines I buy: http://www.dphotographer.co.uk/, http://www.photoradar.com/ and Digital Camera.
I bought the Nikon D3000 Field Guide, decent read. The Genious of Photography book and DVD (amazing resourses) and Magnum.
Photographers I admire/like: Joel Meyerowitz, William Eggleston, Annie Leibovitz, Henri Cartier-Bresson and Don McCullin (to name a few).
Bought a Nikon 55-200mm VR and find it amazing. "I wonder what a 700mm could I ask my wife?" and then run a mile when I see the look on her face!
Bought a Lowepro bag, cleaning kit, lens hood/s, UV filter/s and remote shutter release. I'd like a decent tripod and a macro lens, but they'll have to wait.
Joint several websites, my prefered one is........Talk Photography!!
Joined several Facebook sites, but find that people just post pictures, the discusions are limited....
Looked at joining a club, http://www.lps1852.co.uk/, but so far haven't had time.
A couple of my favourite photographs(again, to name a few):

(if these shouldn't be posted let me know and I'll delete them!)
A question I'd like a definative answer to: is Robert Capas' Death of a Loyalist Soldier genuine?
I've been to a few places to take pictures: Roundhay Park, Temple Newsham, Salts Mill, Otley Chevin, Yorkshire Sculpture park.
I've done several night shoots, with limited success, as I go on my own and it's a bit scary!
I've done a few urban shots but didn't manage to get the confidence to ask people if I could take their photographs.
Also attempted: tilt shift (got one decent shot). Landscape photography and got a few decent shots. Still life and got one decent shot. Panning an got a few decent shots.
I did a timelapse of a pile of ice melting and it was OK, but only shot every 15 seconds so it's a bit jumpy.
Next quest is a long, long night exposure of stars and I'd like to get into some derelict sites.
Overall, I'm very pleased with progression from point and shoot to my DSLR, but I'm still eager to learn more and get better/take better shots. I understand what my caera settings are and actively use them.
I fee quit confident at giving C&C and learning from the C&C I receive.
Finally, thanks for a great forum!
Andy.
