I edit my pics in Lightroom then export to iPhoto as I prefer the ease you can upload pics to iWeb, email plus for browsing. I take all pics in raw, process then export to iphoto as jpg. It does give me the option of PSD, TIFF, DNG or original (Raw I presume). Which would be the best format to export in? If I did export as Original (if that is RAW) I dont mind it being a large file, but would other people have problems opening it, or would i have problems uploading to ebay, iweb or any other website?

Most web applications don't like huge files, and probably couldn't handle RAW files. Also you don't want to put high quality images on the web where they could possibly be poached

I would set up a develop preset to output files for your web pages as JPEG's. You can then specify the dimensions, I tend to simply specify the longest dimension, save as sRGB and adjust the compression to give you the file you want.

Plus you've always got the original RAW file if you need a larger output

If you're not planning on doing any further editing in iPhoto and are using it purely for holding the "display" versions of your images, then JPEG should be fine.

An other way of doingit would be to convert your raw files from NEF to DNG then have iPhoto reference them too, that way you will only need to have one copy of each image.
