printing

hey hey

have just covered a friends wedding and i am going to put some photos on my website so people can buy them. i would like to offer them in 6x4 and 7x5.

my problem is...

i have elements 5 and some of the pics need cropping so as i want to print them in 2 sizes i use the crop tool and "use photo ratio". if i do this then send them to the lab for printing will they be able to print in various sizes??

is that as clear as mud?

If I understand you, you'll have to crop a version for each size. When I upload to my printer, I use a naming scheme like this so I don't get my sizes mixed up.

(number of prints)_(filename)_(size) so it would look like this

(1)_(DSC_0001)_7x5.jpg
(1)_(DSC_0001)_6x4.jpg

Then on my printers site, I choose which size I want printed for each file using the naming scheme.

I may be of no use here. lol. Hope so though.

but if i didnt want to print them myself can i use photo ratio crop and then the lab can print at any size??

Your printing sizes are in different ratios. So if you sent a 6x4 in and needed a 7x5 print, obviously there will be some crop which will mean some loss of area.

I would always send 2 crops in if I were you
