Printing size?

My Canon has a 1.3x crop factor so when printing I print at 12x8 or 16x12. When uploading my images for print my images are slightly too big and it gets cropped. Is there a way of printing the full shot as I seem to forget when composing the photo to allow for this?

The crop factor of 1.3x relates to the size of the sensor compared to a full-frame sensor (36mmx24mm). But the aspect ratio is still the same - 3:2.

So, you should be fine printing to 12x8 - that also has a ratio of 3:2. 16x12, on the other hand, has a ratio of 4:3, so you'll need to crop a little from the top and/or bottom of the image (assuming you're in landscape orientation)
