There is propably a straight foward fix to my problem, but im afraid its not getting through to me.Im missing something but dont know where. I am trying to print a pano on canvas on my epson r1800 . Image taken with my canon eos mk1v. I wish to print at 12x 44 inches. My printer will print to a3+ and i have read on several sites that this printer will do exactly that as 44 inch being the maximum.Im afraid im not well up with the printing side of things and till now only ever printed at a3. I have rotated the image portrait in ps5 and showing pixels dimention 106.9m.Sorry but this doesent mean a lot to me and the pixels are 3600 and 13671 showing.I have tried several ways of checking and unchecking proportion boxes and restraint etc to no avail. In print i can can use the user defined measurment but it wont print the full image and if i tick borderless i cant use user defined. It may be something to do with dpi but i dont know.Ive tried to set it up in cm as well as inches but to be totally honest im not a schollar and im stumped. There is propably a simple fix and i hope so but its driving me nuts.I have reinstalled the printer driver a cpl times also and i really dont know what to do next.

What does your print preview look like or the preview in the photoshop print box.

Hi,poah the readout only shows part of the image.looks to be correct width but only part of it.also when i click to print in photoshop and the print dialouge box come up its only showing the image size at around 11 inches and not as i would have thought 12x44. to save ink i have taped several sheets of paper together and just used text to test .Its still the same .If i try to print on roll i cant enter user defined and it just goes to letter size .I have tried several different settings and can get it to print correct width but wont do the 44 inch as its suposed to. Many thanks.

When I print longer than 19 inches on my R2400 I set the size of paper the print. I select user defined, save the output size and select it. Then I print as normal.

Hi,here goes.. my image is 12x44 inch and i have been told that this is the maximum size this printer will print to.So i get my jpg in cs5 and as it will omly print at 13inch short side i rotate the image to portrait mode. When i click on print it shows the image size as 8.264x11.681 inches.but in the scalled box its showing it at 12x44. So i go into user defined and the maximum i can print at it says is=0.001 inch==1295x12900 so i click ok and into print preview and it only shows part of the image. When i print i get part of the image but its at correct width but only aprox a third of it.As i said before its propably something very easy to correct but its driving me potty trying to work out whats wrong and not being very experienced at printing proceedures. Thanks again.

I have the same printer and I had a similar type of problem when trying to print a panorama print and I remember it was something stupid. I'm not home till tomorrow night but will have a look and see if I can remember how I did it

Thanks zeb and poah im still trying allsorts but what i cant understand is that my image is at 11x44 inch (ive tried several different sizes) but when i click on print its showing it at 8....x11.... inches at the top where the image is displayed .but in the scaled print size its showing at 11x44. so im asuming a conflict somewhere . Got to get it sorted though its suposed to be a present and i dont think it would look good as a minature. thanks again guys

Hi John
Just been reading your post again I suspect that you are going wrong right at the start and loading your picture in Photoshop in landscape format you need to load in portrait format.
Have just done the same as you and taped a few sheets of a4 together and followed what I have written below and I get a perfect 12x44 inch print

Open your image in Photoshop, in portrait mode to your required size i.e. 12in x 44in

Fig_1.jpg

Go to file print and in the print dialog go to print settings select your requirements i.e.
Quality options best photo
Paper options source Roll
Type Premium Glossy Photo Paper
Size User Defined: select units: inch then your paper size width 1200 height 4400 click ok
Orientation Portrait
Roll paper options Banner Mode
Your print dialog box in Photoshop should now have all the dimensions in the scaled print size box i.e. scale 100%
Height 44
Width 12

Fig_2.jpg

Click ok and you should get the print preview
Fig_3.jpg

That should be it and you should have a 12in x 44in print
Hope you understand that and it helps.

Hi trev ,i really apreciate your help on this and to be honest i never thought of using the rulers.I have just tried it BUT, my image is at 12x44 at 300 resolution 300. But when i open the print dialouge box it shows the size at the top at 8.264x11.681 inch. and in print preview its only showing part of the image.

Trev many thanks .just got it sorted i had forgot to put in the size in user defined .i previously set up a panorama size and was trying to use that but it wasnt having it .but now its showing size at correct 12x44. Thats great and thanks again for your help. Im going to have a dummy run on some taped sheets as you stated.
