Printing on Porcelain

Seeing as a well known crocodile and piscian company can't ever get one of my orders right,

is there any home-suitable wait of printing on porcelain items? Such as tree ornaments?

The second link sugests reducing the black components of theCMYK file, which could explain why one of the two types I had printed on the same order (but posted to me seperately, so probably different 3rd parties), was in colour, and the other effectively black and white.
